Original: How to make a model volcano erupt.
Students will be given a model volcano. In this model they will use different materials to successfully show the explosion of the volcano. This model will represent a real life volcano in which a real explosion of magma(vinegar solution) will be released from the volcano.
Supplies needed:
1. Volcano Model
2. Baking Soda
3. Red Food Coloring
4. Vinegar
5. Newspaper
6. Container

Steps:
1. Cover table with newspaper
2. Also cover floor with newspaper as well
3. Students will receive volcano model
4. Pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the hole in the top of the volcano.
5. Pour ¼ cup of vinegar into a container and pour in some red food coloring.
6. Carefully pour this mixture into the top of the volcano and move back.
7. Watch the volcano erupt.
